"Laird" was imported to Canada with his dam, Beeston Bowhill, from the United Kingdom. Laird was a heterozygous grey stallion, and a family horse with a light amateur show jumping career in 0.9 m classes in British Columbia, Canada.

Laird's final years were spent standing at stud in the United States.
